Donations Center

Atlanta Union Mission's programs and services are made possible by individuals, corporations, foundations, churches and community groups who make monetary gifts; donate food, clothing, toiletries, appliances and a variety of in-kind items; and volunteer time at our ministry centers.

More than 50 percent of the Mission's annual operating budget comes from monetary gifts, while in-kind donations provide more than 30 percent.

agape

Agape is defined as the highest form of Christian love and serves as a model for humanity. The Agape Society of Atlanta Union Mission was formed in 2001 with this definition in mind. Agape Society members display selfless love for homeless individuals and persons in crisis in our community through their substantial support of the Mission.

The Agape Society recognizes individuals whose annual support of Atlanta Union Mission is $5,000 or more. The Agape Society was formed with the help of Tycho and Marie Howle, who offered a matching gift to encourage others to support the Mission at the Agape level.

Membership in the Agape Society has more than doubled to 102 individuals since the society was founded. Members are recognized at an annual banquet, which has featured guest speakers Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and Horace Sibley, Chairman of the Regional Commission on Homelessness.

For more information on The Agape Society contact our Development Office, at (404) 367-2252, or e-mail them at info@myaum.org.

Planned Giving Opportunities

In additional to current, outright gifts to the Mission, donors may elect to make planned gifts as part of their personal financial and estate planning. Planned gifts, sometimes referred to as deferred gifts, typically meet tax and investment planning needs of donors while providing a future (deferred) gift to help assure the long-term support of the Mission's programs and services for homeless and addicted individuals.

The most common planned gifts are Charitable Bequests, Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts.

Individuals who establish planned gifts including Atlanta Union Mission as a beneficiary will be recognized as individuals who have chosen to help assure that the Mission's light will always shine to restore hope and transform lives.
